Marina is Starstrukk
The original song is by 3OH!3 ft. Katy Perry, which I always turn off because it gets on my nerves. Until Last FM suggested I'd download this version for free this week. Marina and her Diamonds rock.

Elvis is alive, and he's black!
Last weekend I attended a big Elvis Memorial in the TweebronnenBibliotheek in Leuven. My friend Coby was there to make a repo for Vice Belgium. I ended up making pictures for her. You can find the result here.Enjoy. And remember: Black Elvis is God!

True Blood is cold 'n dirty
My new favorite tv-show (sorry, Mad Men) not only displays some serious HOT men (you get it, right? because they're vampires, they're actually cold) but also has a kick ass soundtrack! It's all country/blues/rock and I love that dirty sound to it.
Don't get me started on the storylines... I hope season 3 will be out on DVD soon here.
Here's a song from Season 1: CC Adcock & The Lafayette Marquis - Bleed 2 Feed

Cigarettes and coffee
This weekend I celebrated my birthday with Beverly Jo Scott. Not exactly WITH her, but I saw her perform at the AB in Brussels. B-day present from my dad. Funny thing is that last year some friends of mine also took me to see this Alabama-born blues singer. Also for my birthday. Maybe next year I'll just ask her to sing happy b-day at my party or something.
It was basically the same show, a tribute to the legendary Janis Joplin and her influences, and also to Jimi Hendrix, which was new, but then again, he's celebrating his 40th non-birthday. The Black Box Revelation proved they can do more than just wear extremely tight pants (procreating is for wuzzies) and kicked some guitar ass with their version of euhm.. A Jimi Hendrix song, for sure.
I wanted to share a song BJ sang the past few years, it was a favorite of Janis Joplins, and the original is by mister Otis Redding. It's about two lovers, working hard to build a future, so he's working very early shifts and she's working very late. The only time they can sit together and talk and just be together is at 3 AM. Over cigarettes and coffee.
